Head Coach Terry Collier

TERRY COLLIER will head up the first-ever branch of the L.A. Marathon’s official training program outside the state of California.   Bringing the proven program to the Atlanta area for the first time, Terry will share his vast background in running and his unique experience as the only individual to run each and every City of Los Angeles Marathon and to serve as a race week volunteer since the race’s inception in 1986.  In 2003, Terry was presented the first-ever Volunteer of the Year Award by the City of Los Angeles Marathon.

Born in rural Swainsboro, Georgia, Terry’s love of running began when he ran to and from elementary school each day.  Upon completion of high school, he attended UCLA where he studied business and was part of the university’s advanced running club. Though he moved back to Georgia in 1998 to continue has career in grocery store management, he has stayed true to his goal to run the first twenty L.A. Marathons, which he will succeed in doing in 2005.

A father and a grandfather, he looks forward to sharing his running expertise and L.A. Marathon experience with his fellow Atlantans.
