Ventura Roadrunners Information

Welcome to the 2006 Los Angeles Marathon Roadrunners Training Program. The official training program for the City of Los Angeles Marathon. As a member of the Ventura Roadrunners you will receive a comprehensive training program to prepare you for the 2006 Los Angeles Marathon. The Ventura Roadrunners meet every Saturday morning at 7:30AM in Ventura at San Buenaventura State Beach. The training program consists of 5 days of training. The Ventura Roadrunners ONLY meet on Saturday, however, the other four days you will train on your own with the schedule that we provide you with. Most Saturdays after group training runs there will be speakers on site to discuss health, exercise, fitness, and other issues related to your training. At the training runs there will be water stations, Gatorade and fresh fruit awaiting you at the finish. Registered Roadrunners also receive discounted registration fees for official training races.

 

#1 Marathon Training Program In The Country

Eileen Cohen returns as the Running Coach and Ed Cohen as the Walking Coach.  Tracie Bruneau joins us as your Ventura Roadrunners Coordinator to attend to the logistics of the program.  We are excited to offer a special leadership role for our returning veterans as volunteer Group Pace Leaders. Each Leader will set the pace for a group based on projected finishing time and train together toward that goal. Challenge yourself to train for a personal best or train at your comfortable pace. Either way, you will get back as much as you give in the form of the camaraderie and support you will enjoy throughout the training and on race day by volunteering to become Group Pace Leader. To help you along the way, we have added a training journal and bulletin board to allow you to track your progress and compare experiences with your fellow Roadrunners.  With the support of the coaches and pace leaders, this year’s Ventura Roadrunners program promises to be the best ever. We look forward to sharing this program with you and seeing you at the L.A. Marathon finish line on race day.
